-------------------
1. TROUBLESHOOTING
1.1 Open Transport
Problem: When I try to use World Book's online feature, I see an
error message saying that I need Open Transport.
Solution: Open Transport is Macintosh system software that allows your
computer to use the Internet. If Open Transport is not installed, you
will see this error message. To correct the problem, you must install
Open Transport, which is located in a folder on the World Book CD-ROM
called "Open Transport Installer". Click on the Open Transport icon
and follow the directions to install the software on your computer.
1.2 Screen Resolution and Colors
Problem: When I change resolution on my computer, the World Book
window no longer fits on my screen.
Solution: Close and restart World Book. The program will fit
correctly on the screen.
1.3 Problem: Videos, Bubble Views, and animations are fuzzy.
Solution: Increase the number colors on your system from 256 to
thousands or millions.
1.4 Problem: When I use the Bubble Views, some program buttons are
temporarily replaced by gray rectangles.
Solution: Close any programs that are running at the same time as
World Book. If that does not correct the problem, follow the
instructions below:
1. Close World Book and click once on its program icon.
2. Click File on the Apple menu, and select Get Info.
3. In the Memory Requirements section, increase the amount of memory
displayed in the Preferred Size box by increments of 2000.
2. Revised instructions
2.1 It is not necessary to identify the location of CD1 and the
download directory at start-up. World Book identifies these
locations automatically.
